Vedanta’s Sesa Goa Business caters to the requirements of the Iron & Steel supply chain. We produce Iron Ore, Pig Iron and Coke. It comprises of Iron Ore Goa, Iron Ore Karnataka, Iron Ore Odisha, Value Added Business, Sesa Cement and Sesa Coke – Gujarat & Maharashtra. The Sector has a unique competitive advantage of having operations in 5 States.
 
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a logistics budget of $150 million, focusing on cost ownership and implementing strategies to reduce costs per ton.
  • Cultivate broad market relationships with sea, road, and rail logistics providers, stevedores, ports, and stakeholders to monitor trends and onboard new service providers capable of meeting critical logistics needs.
  • Maintain and regularly update a list of potential service providers for transportation and railway services related to raw materials and finished goods.
  • Develop and execute a strategic consolidation plan at the group level to ensure optimal quality, timely delivery, and cost-efficiency.
  • Oversee cost management and service quality while ensuring a high level of transparency and governance across logistics operations.
  • Engage with the market to benchmark rates, assess operational performance, foster new vendor development, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Track the entire logistics process end-to-end, collaborating closely with the operations team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of cargo.
The Successful Candidate:
  • B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech/MBA graduate and minimum relevant commercial experience of over 10+ years.
