Job Description

The Senior Executive – General Purchase will be responsible for procuring general items such as generators, threads, chemicals, stationery, and other materials required for office and operational purposes. The role demands strong negotiation skills, market knowledge, and an ability to maintain efficient supply chain operations while ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
1.Procurement Management:
  • Handle the procurement of all general items required across departments, such as office supplies, operational tools, machinery, chemicals, and miscellaneous items.
  • Evaluate purchase requisitions and ensure that the required items are procured efficiently and economically.
2.Vendor Management:
  • Identify and develop a reliable vendor base for different categories of products.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
3.Market Research and Price Analysis:
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess product quality and pricing.
  • Monitor price trends, inflation, and industry changes to ensure competitive pricing.
4.Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination:
  • Work closely with inventory and store teams to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods by coordinating with vendors and logistics teams.
5.Documentation and Compliance:
  • Prepare purchase orders (POs), contracts, and related documents accurately.
  • Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
6.Quality Assurance:
 
  • Inspect and evaluate the quality of goods received to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Handle issues related to defective or substandard items with vendors and resolve them promptly.
7.Budget and Cost Control:
 
  • Monitor and control purchase expenses to stay within allocated budgets.
  • Suggest cost-cutting measures and alternative solutions to meet procurement needs without compromising quality.
8.Reporting and Analysis:
  • Maintain records of purchases, quotations, and vendor details.
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and vendor performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
 
1.Minimum Education: Graduate
 
2.Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in general purchase/procurement roles, preferably in a similar industry.
