Position Overview:

The position is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and monitoring of programs and policies to improve and assure compliance with Regulatory/Quality, Financial and Legal requirements for Global Procurement. The position holder will also enable the procurement function to be effective in terms ESG, Sustainability and Ethical terms, and will actively shape and evolve the Procurement Compliance & Enablement function in conjunction with the Director Global Procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier & Material Qualification

  • Plan and manage procurement responsibilities related to supplier & material qualification process
  • Manage supplier non-conformances, change-controls and responsiveness by engaging with cross-functional team members to develop risk response plans to minimize supply disruptions
  • Support GMP requirements and specification harmonization
  • Manage tech transfer projects (raw material and supplier qualification) between PolyPeptide sites and/or suppliers
  • Perform business assessment and support technical assessment at suppliers
  • Optimize procurement (qualification) process
  • Participate in quality audit, when applicable and agreed with QA.

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) / Sustainability / Ethical conduct in Procurement

  • Work closely with legal, quality and sustainability teams and actively contribute to the Group’s sustainability goals and compliance requirements, including assessing suppliers’ ESG practices, identifying and mitigating related risks in the supply chain
  • Support the Group’s ESG reporting with relevant data and monitoring performance and identify opportunities for process improvements to strengthen compliance efforts
  • Ensure that vendor contracts align with legal, compliance and sustainability requirements
  • Consult category teams to incorporate topics into category strategies, planning as well as audit activities

Business Process Management

  • Maintain and implement procedures for procurement to ensure efficiency, accuracy and accountability
  • Maintain and implement procurement business processes for vendor / material governance
  • Implement robust data governance practices to maintain complete and accurate vendor information in PolyPeptide’s systems

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Ensure the engagement of stakeholders in procurement processes and ensure the maintenance of a consistent, objective and transparent approach
  • Ensure communication in interaction between development / quality / RA departments and global procurement network
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to facilitate cooperation and long-term success

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. / M.Sc. preferrable to have additional certification in RA / ESG.
  • Experience in handling GMP/regulatory requirements and change control with vendors in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge of ESG, sustainability, legal and regulatory/quality and finance requirements that apply to procurement
  • Knowledge of procurement and procurement processes / tools – incl. ERP and reporting systems (AX, Qlik, SRM).

Is a merit:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects across organizations and on a global scale
  • Excellent communication and project management skills with the ability to effectively lead and manage teams in a global and interactive environment
  • Knowledge of Swiss and European sustainability regulations or certifications (such as ISO 26000)
  • Fluent in business-level English
  • Availability for travel (especially in the onboarding phase)
