Reporting to the Supply Manager – EMEAI, you will become part of a growing category team responsible for the oversight of nVent direct material spend. You will oversee and manage the direct material categories to develop and deploy category strategy for the India region to drive optimal cost and conditions (commercial, quality, delivery). This position is responsible for executing commodity strategies that will drive high impact initiatives across direct category spend resulting in improved sourcing efficiencies impacting availability, inventory reduction and material productivity. This position will also support nVent Supplier In Region and Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
Your area of responsibility:
- Responsible for all aspects of direct material sourcing
- Develop best class category sourcing strategy that delivers on established financial targets in alignment with AOP (Annual Operating Plan) goals through mitigating Inflation, improving cost productivity and maintaining supply availability.
- Develop, execute and manage supplier contracts
- Preferred supplier recommendation based on total cost analysis
- Develop deep market / cost-driver expertise for category leadership
- Develop and deploy In-Region and Supplier Resilience strategies
- Report and manage supplier performance metrics – OTD, Quality etc. in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders including Planning, Quality and Product Management.
- Lead quarterly supplier performance reviews
- Work with procurement and quality to solve supplier delivery or quality problems
- Establish relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment of direct sourcing policies and initiatives.
- Support our NPD team on long term growth strategies
- Develop and execute project funnels resulting with YoY direct category spend cost reduction
- Review opportunities between sites and regions to synergize and consolidate direct category spend
- Reports to Supply Manager – EMEAI
You have:
- Bachelors Degree in Related Field (Supply Chain, Business, Finance or Engineering).
- 3 to 5 years of experience in sourcing or supply chain related field
- Team player with negotiation skills, assertiveness and initiative as well as good communication skills
- Analytical, goal and solution-oriented
- Resilience and flexibility
- Willingness to travel (25%)
- Prior experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain Management or related fields.
- Financial acumen
