The Project Purchasing Leader is part of a product development project team and works closely with the
different members within the Offer Creation Process (OCP) and/or the Brand Labeling Management Process
(BLMP). This role is key to the coordination of purchasing activities between Global Supply Chain and the
business units with a focus on growth and meeting technical challenges through innovation.
Key responsibilities:
1. Contribute to Make/Buy and Design/Buy analysis in order to have early supplier involvement on
projects. Bring supplier market knowledge through co-development & innovation.
2. Ensure RFQ, cost finalization, sample development, part approval in close coordination with project
team while securing parts procurement for prototype, pilot & mass production as per target dates.
3. De-risk supply chain by providing inputs to CSRM to achieve multi-sourcing target and by
performing SRiM
4. Ensure that category choices fit with project needs and deploy regional and global category strategy
within the project. Challenge & Influence SOC when required.
5. Dare to disrupt by bring supplier market knowledge and innovation into projects.
6. Take responsibility for negotiation of all purchasing terms and conditions with suppliers including
contracts for strategic parts and components;
7. Ensure timely parts & tools development with existing or new suppliers per capacity / capability
analysis through process audits & frequent supplier visits.
8. Proactively resolve critical issues on regular basis without affecting manufacturing / production
operations.
KPI:
Act like owner to –
1.
a. Achieve cost reduction at every stage gate to bring market competitiveness to product
b. Launch product within TTM schedule and with right quality through flawless execution of
PMP/PEP/BLMP process
c. Meet multi-sourcing and SOC targets given by line of business
d. Adopt supplier innovation
