Location: India
Reporting Line: Finance and Administration Manager, India
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Specialist to support the financial operations of our India business. This role will involve key accounting responsibilities, financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. The Finance Specialist will work closely with the Finance and Administration Manager to manage day-to-day financial tasks, assist with financial reporting, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance function.
 
Responsibilities:
 
Accounting & Financial Operations:
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for management.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or process improvements.
  • Prepare financial summaries and reports to assist the Finance Manager in decision-making processes.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with the coordination of audits, both internal and external.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of internal control measures.
Support Functions:
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., HR, Supply Chain, MarCom) to provide financial insights and support their operations.
  • Assist in the implementation of process improvements and automation within the finance function.
Ad Hoc Projects:
  • Participate in special financial projects, such as system upgrades or the development of new financial processes.
  • Provide financial support for any local legal or regulatory matters as directed by the Finance Manager.

Job responsibilities

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel. Knowledge of PowerBI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
