Position: Logistics Network Planning Manager

Location: Mumbai

Under their Lighting business, they offer a wide range of innovative LED lamps and fixtures including panels and battens to consumers and are known for their prowess in street lighting, sports lighting, industrial commercial and infrastructural lighting, and undertaking specialised illumination projects on a turnkey basis amongst other solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Network design & optimization:
  • Determine the locations of warehouses based on the supply network, distribution network and delivery timelines/SLA to achieve the best cost effective model & best performance KPIs.
  • Supply network includes Suppliers, Own-factories, Supplier/factory warehouses, etc.
  • Distribution network includes Customers locations such as Distributors, Channel specific customer locations, etc.
  • Determine location of CWH , RDC, BWH, Depots, etc.
  • Mapping of customers to the right delivery centers (Branches) with right delivery time & cost.
  • Determine the Permanent & Temporary warehouses as per stocking requirements, build-up plans, seasonal requirements, etc.
  • Determining the warehouse requirements and design of the warehouse facilities:
  • Space required, docks required, type of warehouse, etc. based on the inventory, operations, business requirements, etc. as per next 3 year growth plan.
  • Warehouse storage system design – racking, shelf, pallet position, block position, etc.
  • Logistics Operations & Process design:
  • Determine the requirements for equipment, manpower, docks, etc.
  • Ensure best performance (time) for dock to stock and stock to dock.
  • Digitalization & Automation:
  • Design & implementation of WMS, TMS and related systems.
  • Other digitalization & automation initiatives (including cross-functional) in the organization
  • Reduce Material touchpoints (handling) to reduce damages & transportation
  • Design the network & process to optimize the vehicle (type) and load formation
  • Participate with CFT for packaging design/ optimization
  • Participate in S&OP meetings to understand the next 3 months and align the logistics for delivering.
  • Meet and understand the requirements & pain areas of internal & external customers.
  • Perform benchmarking with Consumer durables/FMCD/ FMEG industry & other different industries, best in class supply chains & logistics, best practices, etc.
  • Implement & Track logistics compliances – local laws, govt. regulations, etc.
  • Lowest logistics cost with highest performance KPIs while maintaining compliance requirements.
  • Prepare Relevant cost & KPI Dashboards for logistics & develop tracking mechanism.

Experience & Skills requirements:

  • Role reports to the Head Logistics.
  • Candidate must have MBA or equivalent management degree. Engineering background is desirable.
  • Relevant experience: 5-12 years, for exceptional candidates it can be relaxed.
  • Both Male/Female candidates can apply.
  • Location: Head office, Mumbai.
  • Travelling: Moderate.
  • Role requires interacting and coordination with key stakeholders-
    Internal stakeholders: Demand & Supply planning, Sourcing team, Sales, Marketing, Packaging design team, logistics, Finance, Commercial team, ESG/ CSR & IT departments.

External stakeholders: Specific customers from Trade and Alternate Channels (need based)

  • Candidate should be able to challenge the status quo; drive out of the box thinking to overcome barriers and drive decision making by engaging key stakeholders
