JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for the movement of finished goods from vendor to central warehouse/ Regional distribution centers / Branch warehouses in the assigned zones.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Arranging mode of transport for movement of goods – vendors to CWH, CWH to RDC / WHs, WHs to customers, in close co-ordination with vendors, CWH in-charges.
• Effective management of transportation budget allocation keeping in mind expected inflations in fuel and other costs & driving cost saving initiatives Y-O-Y basis.
• Finalizing contracts with transporters and periodical reviews & setting service level agreements, creating centralized process of appointment of transporters and fleet owners.
• Processing of transporters freight bills & arranging for release of payments, handling lodging / settlement of transit claims on transporters and Insurance claims.
• Setting up transporter performance evaluation system on vehicle placement, transit time, safety of goods delivered.
• Developing and implementing appropriate modules for process improvement.
• Ensuring tracking of consignments and visibility for internal controls and reports & contributing to development of Transport Management System (TMS) and dashboards.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Post-graduate Diploma/ Degree (Logistics/Supply Chain Management)
