Manager Procurement is responsible for overseeing the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of both essential raw materials (direct materials) needed for production and significant capital expenditures (Capex) like machinery or large equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality standards, and timely delivery across both categories while collaborating with internal stakeholders like engineering and operations teams.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Direct Material Procurement:
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for direct materials, including raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies.
Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize cost and quality.
Manage inventory levels of direct materials to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent stockouts.
Monitor market trends and identify potential cost-saving opportunities for direct materials.
Collaborate with production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
2. Capex Procurement and Spares
Develop sourcing strategies for major capital equipment and spare purchases, including identifying potential vendors and evaluating technical specifications.
Lead the procurement process for large capital projects, including budget management, vendor selection, and contract negotiation.
Ensure compliance with internal Capex approval procedures and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and evaluate new technologies and equipment.
Ensure timely delivery of ordered equipment to the utilization of budget.
3. Oversea and Control Indirect Plant Purchases
Overseeing procurement of all indirect services and goods at plants level.
Developing necessary controls and processes to manage plant’s spare part and packaging material sourcing.
Developing new supplier for indirect services at plants
Conducting periodic meetings with the group of indirect suppliers at plant.
Conducting half yearly Code of Conduct workshop for plant suppliers and service providers.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting:
Track key procurement metrics related to capital goods spending, supplier performance, and cost savings.
Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in the procurement process.
Prepare regular reports for senior management on procurement activities and performance.
5. Contract Management:
Draft and negotiate comprehensive contracts with suppliers, ensuring clear terms and conditions regarding price, delivery schedule, warranty, and quality standards.
Monitor contract compliance and address any contractual issues that arise.
6. Data Analysis and Reporting:
Track key procurement metrics related to capital goods spending, supplier performance, and cost savings.
Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in the procurement process.
Prepare regular reports for senior management on procurement activities and performance.

- Bachelor of Engineering from a reputed college (preferably electrical, mechanical or civil) is a must.
- Post Graduation Diploma/Degree in management or supply chain.
- Strong understanding of direct material, capex and spare part sourcing including technical specifications, industry standards, and manufacturing processes relevant to the company’s operations.
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Ability to manage complex capital projects from initiation to completion, including timelines and budgets.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate supplier proposals, cost breakdowns, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with suppliers.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on direct material, capital goods and spare parts within a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with complex procurement processes, including RFQs, tenders, and contract negotiations.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP system
