Materials Leader

Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversee master planning, material processes, and systems: Prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with the production plan and key performance indicators (KPIs). Optimize inventory and drive process improvements.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge in a technical discipline: Leverage prior experience and acquired technical expertise to implement policies and strategies.
• Understand key business drivers: Use this understanding to effectively accomplish tasks. Recognize how your team’s work integrates with other teams and contributes to the broader area.
• Exercise judgment and propose innovative solutions: With guidance, offer different solutions outside of established parameters. Utilize prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Access technical skills and analytical thinking to address problems. Collaborate with multiple internal sources outside of your team to make informed decisions.
• Individual contributor or early people leader: This role may involve being an individual contributor with strong interpersonal skills or an early-stage people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provide informal guidance to new team members.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline.
• This role required minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in materials planning and purchase planning & strategies.
• Strong background in managing supply chain processes and procurement
• Experience with medical equipment, specifically X-ray and CT (Computed Tomography) systems.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or any equivalent platform.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
