Job Description

  • Responsible for the execution of specific aspects of Supply chain Management including expediting, procurement, subcontracts, negotiation and reporting of major procurement packages/subcontracts.
  • Clear understanding of client head contracts requirements including Wood responsibilities and knowledge of how these are integrated into project supply chain strategies, plans, procedures, terms & conditions. Has working knowledge of commercial terms and conditions, interfaces with Wood legal/commercial experts and can initiate / discuss adaptations in order to reach a commercial agreement under guidance of Supply chain Manager.
  • Regularly reports progress of all procurement activities for which they are responsible. Ensures direct reports updates reports/systems with required information to allow accurate reporting and escalates any critical issues and risks to project management.
  • Responsible for the supervision and guidance of directly reporting Buyer/Senior Buyer.
  • Accountable for the successful delivery of all supply chain activities that they are responsible for
  • Responsible for the end-to-end sourcing process (strategy though closeout) for the major procurement/subcontract packages.
  • Provides guidance, direction, and support to the reporting personnel in delivery of their specific responsibilities.
  • Provides guidance, direction, and support to all relevant stakeholders on both Wood and Suppliers specific contractual obligations and responsibilities.
  • Ensures all supply chain activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan/schedule and/or contracting strategy, within approved budget and in line with established project processes and procedures.
  • Assisting with development of processes and procedures, and communication to relevant personnel.
  • Update the Procurement Status Report (PSR) inline with project/Client required on site dates and current/estimate lead times, notifying any delays to supply chain lead.
  • Attend regular PSR meetings with Client, engineering and project management personnel to ensure dates for pre-order deliverables within their [portfolio are being maintained.
  • Establishes priorities, assigns workloads and review tasks as assigned to direct reports.
  • Utilisation of Wood Material management systems for Supplier evaluation, audit and selection of Suppliers as required for the project.
  • Carryout Supplier performance reviews and ongoing management ensuring corrective actions are taken where required.
  • Ensure that all statutory and legal requirements and procedures are complied with, and all actions are fully auditable.
  • Under specific direction sets direct reports objectives and responsibilities. Supervise the direct reports and ensure that they have a clear understating of their role, supply chain processes and procedures and provide guidance, direction, and support.
  • Promote safe working practices and demonstrate safety leadership a all times.
  • Understands and lives Wood’s vision, values, and behaviours.
  • Understands and works to the Wood financial management framework.
  • Assist in applying robust performance management and development plans for direct reports.
  • Capture all internal and external yearly savings target as per business plan.
  • Assist in implementation of global/regional/country initiatives as per business plans.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Essential)
  • GDMM or PGDMM (Desirable)

Experience:

  • Fifteen to Eighteen years of experience in procuring equipment and materials (Essential).
  • Proven ability to select Suppliers for bidding, perform commercial evaluation, qualification to Terms and conditions and prepare negotiation strategies/techniques and represent Supply Chain in negotiations (Essential).
  • Proven supervisory experience leading a team of Supply chain specialist and coordination with project teams (Essential).
  • Experience in Oil and Gas, Refineries, Petro-chemical related industries (Desirable).
  • Good knowledge of region-specific Suppliers, sourcing strategies, selection criteria, their qualifications and reputation. Understands the pros and cons of sourcing material and equipment from best cost countries (Desirable).
