Senior Buyer for Sourcing & Operative Procurement function (based in Gurugram, India)

We are seeking a “Senior Buyer”, an experienced procurement professional specializing in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing of products and components for Rolls & workshop Services with a strong background in casting & forging, fabrication & machining, cost optimization and timely deliveries to support efficient supply chain operations. This position reports to “Manager, Sourcing & Operative Procurement”. In this position you will work closely with various stakeholders, including Engineering, Project Management, Sales, Category Management, and Site Operations for supplies domestic and overseas.
Your key responsibilities will be to :

Implement sourcing plans with assuring global quality levels, required delivery times, and optimizing the total cost of the products and services. (TCO, TCA). Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for manufacturing of Valmet own designed items. (castings, forgings, welded & machined parts). Negotiates prices and terms with suppliers to meet specified quality, delivery, and cost objectives. Executes contract negotiation and development in coordination with sourcing manager. Maintaining supplier relationships to ensure adherence to quality standards, delivery schedules, and cost targets. Works closely with the global category management and other stakeholders to deliver expected results. Proactively communicate the development actions with stakeholders as and when needed. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations. Adhere to Valmet’s HSE, Values, Sustainability, and Code of Conduct.

To succeed this role, you will need:
Graduation in mechanical engineer with minimum 8 years of experience in the relevant field. Core knowledge of castings & forgings, fabrication & machining. Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. To exhibit a cooperative attitude with a genuine drive and desire to achieve success within Valmet. To demonstrate a result-oriented working attitude. Cross-cultural working experience is a plus. Excellent problem-solving and data analysis skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), ERP (LN), and Compass, with daily usage and analysis experience. Willingness to travel and re-locate. Adept in the language if English.
