Senior Engineer – Purchase

Job Description

The Senior Engineer – Purchase has to set clear commodity and supplier strategy for this organization. He has to implement effective strategies to improve procurement activities and ensure to follow the Global Supply Chain Management (GSM) process and procedures. He has to ensure the competitiveness and flawless launch of new projects. He should have diversified knowledge in commodities & process like Powder Metal / Aluminium Pressure Die Casting / Plastic Injection Moulding / Cold Forging / Machining / Stamping/ Fine blanking.
  • Strong, proven & High focussed experience on Sourcing & Procurement.
  • Parts handled: Powder Metal / Aluminium Pressure Die Casting / Plastic Injection Moulding / Cold Forging / Machining / Stamping/ Fine blanking.(you can have a relaxation in this part, the candidate hands on experience having 3 to 4 areas of the list can be preferred but need to be in hard core purchase)
  • Vendor Selection, Assessment & Audit.
  • Strong Negotiation skill: Negotiation of Payment Terms, Price and INCO Terms.
  • Review Supplier Performance & Improve.
  • Thorough knowledge on Zero Price Costing, Cost Estimation & Target Costing.
  • Hard-core Purchasing all through his career for min. 7 – 8 years.(started his career as a purchase and being in purchase, need not to consider OEM purchase guys, prefer purchase guys from parts manufactures which deals with procuring min of 5 to 10 kinds of parts / commodity will be suitable) eg. Brakes (brakes will have too many particles in it’s finished stage to supply to any OEM)
  • Prefer candidate from Tier 1 Automotive MNC (Automobile product manufacturing company)
