Position Summary

He/She will be responsible for leading the planning department to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the organization’s goals and objectives

This role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure that all operational plans are executed efficiently and effectively

The Senior Manager of Planning will also be tasked with forecasting future business needs, analyzing market trends, and advising senior leadership on potential risks and opportunities. This position requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage complex projects and teams

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust demand forecasting models based on historical data, market trends, and seasonal variations
  • Collaborate closely with business teams, marketing team and finance to gather input and insights for developing an inventory plan for complete season across COCO & FOFO outlets, distribution, ecommerce & q-commerce partners, ecommerce portal.
  • Monitor and adjust forecasts to respond to changing market dynamics and ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Develop and implement a robust distribution model based on business targets (revenue & margins), historical sales data, trends and space utilisation
  • Monitor fill rates across all inventory touch points
  • Coordinate with logistic operations team to optimize distribution network plans and ensure timely and cost-effective delivery online and to retail outlets.
  • Monitor logistic costs and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
  • Coordinate with procurement and production teams to ensure timely delivery of products
  • Suggest & help implementing inventory management techniques suited for multi brand retail company to streamline supply chain operations
  • Oversee production scheduling and capacity planning with production units to meet demand forecasts and customer orders
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize production processes and minimize lead times.
  • Suggest & help implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and mitigate risks.
  • Build and lead a high-performing planning team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the planning function.
  • Set clear goals and KPIs for the team, regularly assessing performance and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Regularly selecting & engaging the teammates in management development trainings & programs.
  • Recruitment, Counselling & Appraisal
  • Drive strategic initiatives to enhance planning capabilities and support business growth objectives (both revenue & margins).
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for process optimization, automation, and technology adoption.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on thorough analysis and industry trends.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in the Demand, Supply and Production Planning Functions in a Retail/FMCG Industry
  • Should have lead demand planning or distribution planning for at-least 2 years for a retail industry.
  • The candidate must have a B-Tech + MBA from B School
  • Should be around 28-36 years of age
  • Collaborative and robust work environment
  • Excellent growth trajectory and working with the head of supply chain with dotted line reporting to COO in a high visibility role.
