Job Description
Position Summary
Will lead Procurement and sourcing function. Develop and manages the direction and daily activities of the materials and services with the focus on People, organization, process, and information technology. This includes customer strategic forecasting/order entry, complete follow through the manufacturing / processing cycle, and ensuring timely logistical processing of product. Responsible for embracing and driving lean enterprise systems throughout the supply chain function
Responsibilities
Main Duties :
- Leads the supply chain team in executing best practices and measuring performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Directs and coordinates supply chain functions through strategy, resource optimization, profitability maximization, and KPIs resulting in the maximization of customer satisfaction.
- Plans, manages, and coordinates all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the changing levels of product demand.
- Works with plant, warehouse, and logistics departments. Works towards most cost-effective distribution solution for finished goods transportation to customers.
- Monitors and corrects inventory levels at Internal Warehouse & outside warehouses (3PL) to ensure rotation and maximize working capital.
- Works with freight forwards and transportation companies to set best route and rate (reviews and approves all freight terms and agreements as per company norms).
- Collaborates with teams to determine best practice for freight in and freight out consolidation.
- Supports proper utilization of ERP system. Ensure efficient flow of material.
- Evaluation with multiple vendors and commercial rate negotiation on Capex (Buildings & Machinery) purchasing to the tune of $ 1,000,000.00.
- Member of the operations staff, responsible to routinely report on department KPIs along with appropriate analysis and countermeasures where necessary.
- Will establish preferred supplier selection criteria based on supplier evaluations of price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance with governmental procurement regulations. Will establish and implement standard/automated re-order procedures. Will develop crisis management and supplier backup contingency programs. Negotiates long-term contracts in coordination with Group staff and policies.
- Accountable for managing the Business Unit’s overall strategic production planning (S&OP) practices taking into consideration short-term/long-term production requirements and integrating materials availability. Will establish and implement procedures for special order request, engineering changes and part substitutions.
Actively involved in new project costing, developing vendors to obtain timely procurement of materials and equipment to facilitate smooth proto supply
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Accountable for managing the materials function considering manufacturing capacity, scheduling workloads, recommending in house manufacturing vs. outsourcing, quality control and workforce balance.
- Responsible for managing the operational inventory to ensure adequate stocking levels for immediate production items and forecasting for future requirements. Will establish and implement standard/automated delivery procedures for just in time supplier stocking items.

Qualifications
- 10-17 years’ experience in supply chain management.
- 2 years’ experience in managerial cadre
- Preferably worked for Machining, heavy engineering or automotive industry.
- Possesses analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.
- Must have advanced computer skills and be able to understand electronic data processing.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal, communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
