Sr. Logistics Scheduler/Buyer

What you’ll do:

• Role requires skills in Logistics Planning, CRM, and Data Mining techniques to ensure our logistics operations are efficient and effective.
• Monitor fleet and assign pick-ups based on driver locations, understanding how the dedicated network works and driving improvements to achieve efficiencies related to cost reduction and improve Truckload utilization.
• Lead Cost out improvement projects, drive network optimization initiatives.
• Drive the collection, organization, and analysis of GEIS network carbon emissions.
• Monitor/improve ship site determination logic. Measure compliance to preferred ship site.
• Monitor/Measure stock transfer performance including on time % , cost by mode, utilization etc.
• Knowledge of Measuring / Monitoring delivery creation methods in SAP.
• Create business policies for batch job creation development/change.
• Measure/monitor shipments per order across plants, product lines.
• Create monthly Scorecards with leading performance indicators. And hold Monthly reviews with each site.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with about 8-12 Yrs. Experience in North Americas Logistics operational domain
• Preferred SCM qualifications from accredited institute. (APICS CLTD preferred)
• Preferred experience SSC environment

Skills:

• Measure carrier / DC performance regarding customer issues.
• Tracking of Freight carrier error, Damages in transit, lost etc
• Evaluate packaging data to improve cost / load utilization. Lead efforts to improve master data.
• Improve ship site lead times through schedule attainment metrics & processes to tie production planning & distribution together.
• Evaluate customer order patterns to suggest consolidations/shipping schedules.
• Monitor total order cycle time to improve customer satisfaction.
• Partner with sales, operations planning, and Logistics to improve freight forecasting by lane.
• Foresee operational challenges in advance and work with sites in resolving disruptions.
• Expert in analyzing big data and bring some meaningful output to improve logistics network, reduce logistics costs.
• Use data mining techniques to analyze and improve logistics performance.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in logistics operations.
• Co-ordination with 4PL, carriers on shipment booking.
