POSITION: Sr. Manager /Manager –Procurement

Overall Responsibility of Procurement function. Handling of procurement cycles, lead times and purchasing requirements within overall business process of acquisition of goods or services, ensuring needs are met in a timely, satisfactory and cost effective manner.especially in speciality chemicals manufacturing having exposure for procurement of solvents, fatty alcohols, imports, other industrial general chemicals, export logistics and procedures

Operational:

  • Procurement of Indigenous Chemical raw materials, packing material including vendor negotiation. Procurement of Imported Raw materials.
  • Support to the Engineering team, Admin and other functions ensuring SOPs and Policies are followed.
  • Raising RFQ to vendors, getting offers, Negotiating & finalizing contracts.
  • Ensures 100% compliance to statutory, quality, safety & environmental standards as per ISO, Ensuring adherence to SOPs
  • Ensure 100% compliance of the taxation Rules framed there-under and as modified from time to time, International Trade regulations etc.
  • Planning / Budgeting / Policy guidelines for purchase of RM / PM to meet production plans
  • Managing Procure to payment cycle
  • Assisting Q.A. In RM/PM vendor audits
  • Understanding of Chemicals and various packaging. License requirements for Hazardous materials, IIP certification for packaging for Haz Material Exports.
  • Developing complete logistics plan for RM and packaging, scheduling against Purchase and Production plan
  • Track Inventory, Maintaining RM, PM Inventory Norms days as per Lead time and A, B, C classification of Inventory.

Supplier relationship Management:

  • Maintain Cordial Relationship management with strategic suppliers and other key suppliers
  • Vendor development of indigenous & Imported RM & PM, eliminating single sourcing
  • Determine the appropriate source selection for materials, services, considering cost, quality and reliability.
  • Sourcing of New RMs / Packaging as per R&D requirements
  • Work closely with project management/site offices and accounts department on all relevant issues such as quality, delivery payments etc.
  • Implement latest strategy and process for achieving uninterrupted supply at best price and for best quality.

Cost control and Market Intelligence:

  • Keep updated on market trends on RM/PM price, Feedstock movement, update of suppliers, feed-stock movement & international Price movement and act strategically
  • Control Cost, spend analysis and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
  • Cost reduction through development of alternate suppliers and alternate materials. Should have understanding of Total cost of ownership, Cost break up analysis, Logistics cost etc.
  • Reduction of Non Moving & Slow Moving stock in RM by way of consumption or sale of unusable / damage goods

People Development:

  • Ensure developing purchase team skills and offer opportunities for advancement.
  • Define and evolve a competency framework for purchase function as per business requirement.
  • Assess team’s capability and prepare a strong talent pipeline across the job family of purchase function.
  • Set performance goals for the purchase function and ensure alignment of the function with the overall objectives of the organisation.
  • Review and monitor team performance to achieve annual performance goals.

Job requirement:

  • BE , chemical or any Graduate with DMM or MBA( full time)
  • Experience of 10-to 15 ears, preferably experience in the Indian specialty/fine chemicals
  • Problem solving, Analytical skills, SAP ERP, Negotiation skills.
  • Certification in Supply Chain: APICS or ISM will be of advantage
